Suspected bandits have reportedly abducted about 300 students in their latest attack on the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara State.

According to a BBC Hausa Service report, the abduction happened in the early hours of Friday. In the report, a teacher working in the school put the figure of the abducted girls at close to 300, while confirming the attack.

However, Muhammad Shehu, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Zamfara police command, has refused to react on the incidence.

He pleaded for more time, in a bid to give a more detailed explanation about the attack.

This is coming barely a few weeks after 27 students and 15 others were abducted in Kagara, who are still yet to be released as at the time of filing this report.

Recall also that on February 14, 53 passengers of a bus were abducted on their way to Minna, the capital of Niger State. The passengers were later released after their horrific time in the custody of their captors.

Details shortly…
