• FG Receives Lion share

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has disbursed a total of N1.818 trillion to the Federal Government, states, and Local Government Councils (LGCs) for the month June 2025.

This disbursement was announced during the July 2025 FAAC meeting in Abuja.

According to a communiqué issued by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), the N1.818 trillion comprises statutory revenue of N1.018 trillion, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N631.507 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) of N29.165 billion, Exchange Difference revenue of N38.849 billion, and a N100 billion augmentation from non-mineral revenue.

The total gross revenue for June reached N4.232 trillion, a significant increase from May’s N2.094 trillion.

A breakdown of revenue allocation revealed that the Federal Government received N645.383 billion, state governments were allocated N607.417 billion, and LGCs received N444.853 billion.

Additionally, N120.759 billion, representing 13% of mineral revenue, was distributed to benefiting states as derivation revenue.

From the N1.018 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government took N474.455 billion, states received N240.650 billion, and LGCs got N185.531 billion, with N118.256 billion shared as derivation revenue.

The VAT revenue of N631.507 billion was distributed with the Federal Government receiving N94.726 billion, states N315.754 billion, and LGCs N221.027 billion.

The communiqué further stated that while Companies Income Tax, Petroleum Profit Tax, and EMTL recorded significant increases, Oil and Gas Royalty, VAT, Import Duty, Excise Duty, and CET Levies saw considerable declines. Notably, VAT revenue dropped by N64.655 billion from May’s N742.820 billion to N678.165 billion in June.
