From David  Edokpoya, Benin

A bomb has exploded at the residence of factional State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Mr. Lawrence Okah. The bomb which reportedly shattered a part of the building and dug a hole in the ground left many confused and threw the entire environment into shock and disbelief.

Our correspondent in Benin reports that Mr Okah is loyal to the  national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole faction of the APC in Edo, which as been at long-standing political feud with the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki’s faction.

Recall that Oshiomhole, who is the national chairman of the APC, has been reportedly expelled from the state chapter of the APC by Governor Obaseki’s faction of the APC in Edo State, throwing up heated political war in the State.

Chieftains of the APC such as Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Dr. Pius Odubu and others were earlier at Mr Okah’s residence for a what they called “solidarity visit” when the bomb went off.

The Edo governorship election is scheduled to hold on September 19, 2020.
