The immediate past governor of Bayelsa State and senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Hon. Seriake Dickson, has  been declared winner of Saturday’s by-election in the state.

The immediate past governor defeated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Rt Hon Peremobowei Ebebi, a former deputy governor and two-term speaker of the Bayelsa state House of Assembly.

In the results coming in,  ex-Governor Dickson reportedly polled a total of 115,257 votes to overwhelm his main opponent, Rt Hon Ebebi who reportedly came second in the contest.

Ebebi, the APC candidate reportedly polled a total of 17,500 votes to maintain second position in the fiercely fought election.
