Elated All Progressives Congress, APC Bayelsa State Governorship candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva, bursting with excitement after his declaration as winner of the just concluded party’s primary in Yanegoa, the state capital, lamented the high level of Infrastructural decay in the state.

The former Governor who noted in dismay that most of the laudable projects he executed during his first tenure, have all gone into extinction, adding that upon assumption of office, his administration would prioritize provision of electricity which he described as pivotal to economic stimulus.

He disclosed that his administration built turbines in order to boost electricity supply in the state, adding that not even one of them can be traced as they have disappeared into oblivion.

Sylva who promised to consolidate on his past achievements, said he was relatively young during his first tenure as Bayelsa State Governor.

“I was only 42 years when I became governor in 2007. Today, I’m older and wiser now. I promised to bring all my experience to bear on the overall development of the state.

” I will bring in the federal might since our party, APC is already at the centre. The President Elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is already familiar with the problems in the Niger Delta region. With his influence, we shall turn Bayelsa State into another Lagos, pushing the ocean away to allow for development to thrive. We shall replicate the building of the Atlantic City in Bayelsa.

“But most importantly, I will ensure adequate provision of electricity as it would generate jobs for the skilled workers as Business centre owners, Hairdressers and barbing saloon owners and so on.

Also, only adequate electricity supply would encourage companies that have left the State in droves to return.

Hence, Bayelsa State must generate enough electricity because we have adequate Gas to power the Electricity plant,” he said.

The former Minister who also promised to tackle the perennial flooding in the state, noted that year in year out, the people are being displaced by flooding only to be given handouts as bucket of rice and a cartoon of noodles, only for the rain to come again and chase them away from their homes.

He stated that paradoxically this government styled itself “prosperity government” whereas there’s nothing to show for it.

Sylva assured Bayelsans that his administration would create wealth for the people so that it will not be referred to as civil servant State.

Under the arrangement, Sylva disclosed that his administration would shore up the Internal Generating Revenue (IGR) in the state.

The APC Governorship candidate said above all things, his administration would prioritize security in the state as development of any nation revolves around it.
