The battle for control of Rivers State has deepened with the demolition of Rivers State House of Assembly.
The entire House of Assembly is being demolished, as monitored on ARISE TV.
TheNewDiplomat reports that the demolition order was at the instance of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara.
It would be recalled that Monday, 27 lawmakers loyal to the immediate past governor, Nyesom Wike, decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), leaving only five members of the PDP with the incumbent governor.
The demolition came about 24 or thereabouts hours after the decampment of the 27 lawmakers.
The move, as feared by the camp of the incumbent governor, could be preparatory to the impeachment and removal of the governor.
The development has further exacerbated the political crisis that has engulfed the state in the past few weeks.
