Barcelona have reached an agreement with Leeds United for the transfer of Raphinha.

Raphinha, 25, will undergo a medical in Spain ahead of his move.

It is understood Barcelona will pay a fee of £50 million plus £5 million for the Brazil international.

Newsmen had reported on Tuesday that Raphinha was due to fly to Barcelona to complete a deal, having trained at Thorp Arch after he was left out of Leeds’ squad for their pre-season tour to Australia in order to finalise a transfer.

Chelsea had an agreement in place with Leeds for Raphinha for two weeks, while Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also held interest, but Barcelona have finally got their man thanks to his insistence on pursuing a move to Catalonia.

There had been concerns that Barcelona would not be able to afford a move for Raphinha, but their financial situation was aided on June 30 when they announced a €267 million deal to sell 10 per cent of their La Liga TV rights for the next 25 years to US firm Sixth Street.

Raphinha enjoyed two fine seasons at Leeds, scoring 17 goals and assisting 12 in 65 Premier League appearances.

He will become Barcelona’s third signing of the window, after they secured Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen on free transfers from AC Milan and Chelsea respectively.
