A bandit leader simply identified as Turji, alongside members of his gang have invaded and taken over several villages located in Shinkafi Local Government Area(LGA) of Zamfara State.

According to reports, Turji was avenging his father’s arrest by the security operatives.

Zamfara State alongside some other states in the Northwestern region of Nigeria have been witnessing incessant attacks from the bandits.

In a move to curb the attacks, President Muhammadu Buhari had declared war on the bandits causing havoc across the country. The president ordered the military troops to crush the bandits.

Although, the circumstances surrounding the incident remains sketchy as of press time, however, eyewitness who spoke with some online media disclosed that Turji was angry that the security operatives arrested his father.

According to the eyewitness, Turji’s father was apprehended in Kano State about two weeks ago.

However, about 150 residents have been reportedly abducted by Turji and his gang members in Shinkafi LGA between Friday and early Saturday.
