Some armed bandits, on Saturday invaded the residence of Commissioner of Environment, Plateau State, Usman Bamaiyi located in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area.

Following the invasion, the Commissioner’s wife and daughter were kidnapped.

According to reports, the armed bandits stormed the house of the commissioner at about 2:30am on Saturday.

Plateau police spokesman ASP Gabriel Ogaba, has confirmed the incident.

Ogaba while speaking with The Nation said the police force was aware and has deployed officers in search of the wife and daughter of Bamaiyi.

“We are aware of the incident, the police has swung into action on the trial of the kidnappers. Investigation is on going to save them,” Ogaba said.
