Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) has called on the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi to grant concessional wiaver and halt the planned demolition of a Radio house owned by ace Gospel-Juju artiste, Yinka Ayefele.

Oyo State government, The New Diplomat gathered had served the owner of the building situated along Challenge road, Ibadan, a demolition notice over alleged non approval of some of its structures, claiming the “Music House Complex is responsible for three accidents that occurred on the road in the last nine months”, something Ayefele had through a statement on Wednesday termed as an unreasonable claim.

In a statement signed by its President, Oladotun Hassan, the YCYW, Friday appealed to Governor Ajimobi to calm all strained nerves over the matter.

“We equally appeal to the conscience of His Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, The Executive Governor of Oyo State to please grant concessional wiaver on the impending demolition of the music House building Office complex worth over N800million, which is not only a golden edifice, but strategically posited to add value to the aesthetics, social and economic growth and development of Oyo State.”

The group also called on leaders of thought to intervene and placate Ayefele and the Oyo State government, by amicably resolving the ongoing dispute.

“It is on this premise we call on leading Royal Fathers, all political stakeholders, great elders of the Yoruba Land and all eminent Nigerians to rise up in unison to intervene in the ongoing brouhaha brewing between the Oyo State Government and Mr. Yinka Ayefele, over the imminent threat of demolition of the latter Music House situated along Challenge Road, Ibadan. In view of the tantrums thrown at each other in the wake of this Debacle, we urgently call for peaceful intervention and resolution respectively.

“We are duly conversant with the whole facts based on wide spread media reports, while not apportioning blames, we call for an immediate panacea over the raging feud, inevitably becoming more political than addressing real issues, especially laying on the grounds of demolition, predicated on petitions bordering on the 3 recorded death cases along the road, mostly the music House building is not directly within the precinct of these accidents, as well as the announced contravention of the Oyo State Government town planning laws.

“However, we must reconsider in the interest of equitable justice, that Mr Yinka Ayefele obtained all necessary documents and title to the aforementioned business premises, with different office space apartments for businesses viz: Radio station and musical studio, to this end, we strongly appeal and recommend and call for intervention for a due deligent mediation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Iku Baba Yeye 1, The Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, The Ojaja 11, The Ooni of Ife and other Yoruba leading sons and daughters of high repute to help midwife peaceful resolution of quenching the Burning Flames issues, so as to avoid unnecessary usual pitfalls of politicking and unwarranted debasing of the Oyo State prestige and values.

“We equally call on Mr. Yinka Ayefele, whom we owe in high esteem as a true born Omoluabi and distinct role model to the present and future generations of Nigerian Youths to sheath his legal sword, for we believe the Governor will act positively in this regard.

“We shall graciously appreciate a peace pact and robust resolution accordingly.”
