Nigeria’s new Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Ambassador Oma Djebah on Wednesday hosted Dr. Auwal Abubakar, a Nigerian Ph.D graduate of Mathematical Science, who emerged as the overall best doctorate student in Thailand.

Abubakar formally presented his award to Ambassador Djebah at the Embassy of Nigeria in Bangkok in company of a group of Nigerian postgraduate students studying in Thailand.

The mathematical scholar achieved the feat following the stellar performance he put on in his Ph.D dissertation in Mathematical Science at the King Mongkuts University of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand upon the completion of his doctoral programme.

Abubakar also made history and flew the Nigerian flag high by registering his name in the Thailand’s Highest Journal Citation Report (JCR).

Ambassador Djebah, who resumed at his duty post recently in the Southeast Asian country, poured encomiums on Abubakar for doing the country proud as he extended heartfelt congratulations to the celebrated scholar on behalf of the government of Nigeria.

Also, on Wednesday, Djebah hosted the executives of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) who paid a familiarisation visit to the new Ambassador at the Embassy in Bangkok.

The NIDO executives were led by Dr. Lloyd Nwofor, a lecturer at the North Chang Mai University in Thailand.
