The Presidential candidate of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubaka has promised to open all the nation’s closed borders upon assumption of office as president.

The PDP flag bearer who gave this assurance at a campaign rally yesterday in Katsina, said the reopening of the nation’s border would create employment and shore up the nation’s revenue base.

Atiku who spoke in Hawusa, the native language of the people, also promised to put to check the unabated cases banditry and incessant incidents of kidnapping which have threatened the growth and development of business transactions within the region.

The PDP presidential candidate said his administration would address the recent upsurge of insecurity in the entire northern region, adding that inter border banditry had led to further pauperization of people of the region and Nigeria at large.

The former Vice President also promised to tackle the lingering crisis between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the federal government through amicable resolution of the protracted face off.

Earlier, the Director General of PDP presidential campaign, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State urged the people to vote en mass for the party in the 2023 general elections, adding that remains the sure way to enjoy democratic dividends.

Also the Vice presidential aspirant, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, enjoined the people to vote PDP from top to bottom, adding that it’s by so doing meaning impact would be achieved in governance by elected members of the party.

“Ensure you vote for PDP aspirants from the local government level, Governor and President,” he said.
Others who spoke in the same vein at the campaign ground include the embattled national Chairman of PDP and state Governorship candidate.
