Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially registered his membership with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in his home state of Adamawa, solidifying his much-anticipated political switch ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This move came after Atiku resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku, who has been a central figure in the opposition coalition that adopted the ADC platform, collected his membership card at the ward level in Jada on Monday.
The registration positions Atiku as a frontrunner and influential leader within the ADC, setting the stage for a potential seventh bid for the presidency.
In a brief X (Formerly Twitter) post on his handle shortly after his registration, Atiku wrote,” It’s official. -AA”
