Some sections of the National Assembly’s complex were seen leaking shortly after the rain started on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the roof of the main lobby of the national assembly also leaked rainwater while the heavy downpour lasted.

At some point it became an embarrassing scene as several cleaners were quickly deployed to the section to place bucket at the spot the water was leaking.

Also, the Press Centre where journalists sit to monitor plenary, was also affected.

This incident is coming despite the recent N37billion budgeted allocation for the renovation of the National Assembly complex.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2019 approved N37 billion for the renovation of the National Assembly complex.

According to an explanation by the Senate president, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, there has been no major renovation of the National Assembly building for 20 years and many parts of the property had become dilapidated.
