Following increasing fears of being kidnapped, teachers and their wards in Ohorhe school in  Uvwie local government area of Delta State have shunned the school as two teachers of the school were abducted in mysterious circumstances.

The kidnap of the two teachers of Ohorhe school which reportedly happened on Tuesday has escalated apprehension among teachers and students, leading to a  situation where the school has now been rejected by both students and teachers.

The New Diplomat‘s Delta state correspondent gathered that all staff and students of the secondary school have all abandoned duties, declining overtures to return to school for fear of being kidnapped.

Among those who have reportedly refused to resume duties are the Principal of the school and teachers as well as apprehensive students whose two  fellow students were abducted in macabre fashion.

Some  residents of the area in Uvwie who spoke with The New Diplomat said there is general atmosphere of fear and apprehension in the vicinity following the unexpected kidnapping of two students of Ohorhe Secondary school whose whereabout has not be ascertained till date.

The Delta state police command who confirmed the incident said efforts are in top gear to apprehend the criminals who carried out the act.

Delta State Police Command, Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya said efforts are on-going to rescue the victims.
