A former governor of Osun State and the immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola played host to hundreds of supporters as he joins the rest of Muslim faithful to observe the Eid-al-kabir celebration for 2024.

Aregbesola in a viral video was seen dancing with his supporters, in an apparent move to show his popularity in Osun State.

The New Diplomat reports that Aregbesola and his successor, the incumbent Minister of Marine And Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, continue to battle for the control of the soul of politics in Osun State including the control of the All Progressives Congress(APC).

The crisis had since festered leading into two factions, with one loyal to Aregbesola and the other loyal to Oyetola.

It would be recalled that the faction of the party loyal to Oyetola had announced that the erstwhile minister of Interior was a distraction in the party and ceased to be a member of the party.

The faction, in a communique had stated that the party no longer recognizes Aregbesola as a member.

However, Aregbesola had continued to emphasized that his faction will determine the future of politics in Osun State.

Aregbesola had said: “There is no one who has not felt the wind of the Omoluabi Progressives in the state. Those who knew what we did to them as opposition has started talking because they know our capacity and the fact we are the real politicians who deeply connect with the grassroots.

“There is no doubting the fact that God is with us. By the time we unveil our direction, everyone else who shares in our vision will come on board. I want to assure you that God is with us.”
