Members of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 9, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, were thrown into mourning following the mysterious demise of their Chairman, Mr Vincent Okokoje, who reportedly slumped and died.

The APC Ward 12 Chairman, Gabriel Omorere, who confirmed the incident, said the death of Okokoje “came as a shock to APC members in Warri South and Delta State in general.”

“We attended a meeting together at the residence of an APC leader in Warri South, Chief Ojogri on Wednesday, along Warri/Sapele road. We only got the news that he died on Thursday morning,” he said.
Omorere, who led a delegation of APC chairmen in Warri South LGA in a condolence visit to the wife, children and family of Okokoje, lamented that the chairman would be greatly missed.

He described the deceased as “a gentleman who loved making peace among his colleagues” adding that he was among the three ward chairmen who won their wards in the just concluded general election.

He noted that the departure of Okokoje would create a very big vacuum within the APC in Warri South.

“I pray we have someone like him to work hard and move the party forward,” he remarked.
