Despite the severe economic challenges facing Nigeria, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has maintained that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been doing a good job for Nigerians.
Uzodinma, who doubles as the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done well in managing the numerous challenges facing the nation.
The Governor said this while speaking to journalists on Monday at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
The New Diplomat reports that Uzodinma led the members of the forum on a visit to the National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, to cement a friendship and commiserate with him on the loss of his mother-in-law.
Speaking after the meeting, Uzodinma recognized the immense efforts of the APC government in ensuring the growth and welfare of Nigerians, while also adding that the problem facing the country is an upshot of an overwhelming economic crisis in the world.
He said: “Politically speaking, we don’t need to over-flog the horse, the truth of the matter is that the APC has done very well in Nigeria. What is happening currently, is a global economic problem.”
However, he clarified that considering the circumstances surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s assumption of office, the President has been implementing measures to tackle the nation’s present economic difficulties.
The Imo State governor added: “I am very confident that very soon, Nigerians will be jubilant about how he has managed to navigate the waters.
“Those who are serving us, the national leadership of our party, providing services, are managing our party’s day-to-day affairs.
“They are looking after the policies of the party and are in charge of its administration.”
