Urges Supporters To Mobilize Voters At Unit Level
The APC Senatorial candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Ede Dafinone, has assured that the party is set to take over Delta State in the 2023 election, stressing that the party, more than ever before, is united to sweep the polls.
Dafinone who gave this assurance today in Ughelli on the occasion of the Inauguration of the Dafinone Senatorial Campaign Council stressed that it is important that the various groups go to their units to fully mobilize people at the grassroots for APC, assuring that every vote will count in 2023.
Attributing APC’s previous failures to capture the State to a lack of unity, Dafinone assured that the part is now united and formidable to win overwhelmingly all the electoral seats available in the next election.
According to the seasoned chartered accountant, the APC’s chances of winning all the positions in Delta State in the next election are much brighter than before.
“Let me start by saying that our mission here today is to localize our politics. 2023 is an election where votes will count, and where the election will be won unit by unit. So, our event here today is really directed at localizing our politics.
“We all know that in 2015 and 2019, the party was fragmented and unable to unite in order to form a formidable opposition at that time. But in 2022 our party is one and united. We are now a formidable party, a party that is positioned to take over Delta State come 2023.
“We are much stronger today as a party than we ever were. And our chances of winning the State from governor to Senator, to House of Reps and House of Assembly and the Presidency in Delta State, are incredibly bright”, he stated.
He paid glowing tributes to the leaders of the party in the State, particularly the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who is the APC Governorship candidate in the next election, adding that he has accomplished the most difficult task of uniting the party and now the easier task of mobilizing the grassroots at the unit level as, according to him, all politics is local.
“I want us to reflect for a minute that he (Sen. Omo-Agege) has done the hardest part of the work and left us to do the easier job. The easier job is to recognize that all politics is local. We cannot expect the DSP to come down and win every unit for us. That is our job. That is your job and we must take that job on board. It is our job to make sure that our friends, our brothers, our sisters and our relatives carry the APC banner at all elections come 2023 to translate all those efforts to victory at the polls”, Dafinone said.
Also speaking at the occasion, the incumbent member of the House of Representatives for Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, Hon. Francis Waive, noted that the Delta Central Senatorial election for 2023 is between Chief Ede Dafinone and others, adding that the Urhobo nation is poised to send the best material to take over from the DSP in the Senate.
“The Delta Central Senatorial election is between Ede Dafinone and others. Urhobo as a nation will not send anybody to the National Assembly that they will be ashamed of. But for you Ede Dafinone, Urhobo will be proud of you any day. Chief Ede Dafinone has what it takes to stand and speak in the Red Chambers”, Hon Waive said.
Other speakers who emphasized on the need for APC supporters to work assiduously for the victory of the party at the unit level, include Chief P.D.O Akpeki who is the State Vice Chairman of the party for Delta Central, Chief Tuesday Onoge, Chief Barr. Abel Idigu and the Director-General of the Ede Dafinone Campaign Organization, Olorogun Barr. Adelabu Bodjor, among others.
The high point of the event was the Inauguration of the various Committees that make up the Campaign Council.
