The ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) has fixed its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for 24th July, 2025.

The party’s Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter, disclosed this after Monday’s National Working Committee, NWC, meeting which was presided over by the APC’s newly appointed acting National Chairman, Ali Dalori.

This is coming less than 24 hours after the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, hinted that consultations were underway among key stakeholders to convene an emergency NEC meeting.

According to Morka who spoke on Channel’s TV’s ‘Politics Today’ on Sunday, the meeting would be aimed at selecting a new national chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

He said, “The NEC meeting of our party will be convened imminently. No date has been set yet.

“This is an extraordinary situation following the resignation of our national chairman, and we will take steps immediately to fill the vacancy.”

Recall that Umar Ganduje on Friday resigned as the party’s chairman and in his place, Ali Dalori was appointed in acting capacity.

While President Bola Tinubu has not made any formal statement concerning Ganduje’s exit, the governors elected on the platform of the APC had stated that the decision was part of the party’s evolution and not a indication of internal wrangling or crisis.

The governors made this known in a communiqué issued after their strategic meeting held in Edo, Benin City on Saturday.
