By Agency Report

The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 11 chairmanship seats and 114 councillorship positions in the just concluded local government council elections.

The state electoral umpire said the APC won all 114 councillorship positions unopposed as no party other than the ruling party fielded candidates for the election.

However, the Gombe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the outcome of the exercise, alleging that it was a travesty of democracy and mere drama.

While the PDP said it is planning on what appropriate redress mechanisms to use, the newly elected and returned local government council officials will be sworn in by Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Monday (tomorrow).
