The Director-General of the Delta APC Campaign Organization, Elder Godsday Orubebe has stated that the eight-year administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Delta State was a bundle of deceit to the Ijaw people as none of his promises was kept.

Orubebe stated this in a message to the women of Tuomo Ward 3 in Burutu Local Government Area recently.

Orubebe who hosted the women in Tuomo to express his appreciation to them for their usual support to him since he started politics, reminded them that Okowa has deceived the Ijaws by failing to complete the Ayankromo Bridge as well as denied them a University from among the three the governor created recently.

He assured the people of Burutu and other parts of Ijaw land that the dawn of a new Delta State is emerging with the coming of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as the next governor of the state, adding that not only the Ayankromo Bridge will be completed, but a brand-new University will be established in the area as well as the construction of roads and provision of electricity.

Orubebe charged the women to get ready to vote the APC to power in the state and at all levels, adding that they should also expect free health care, youth empowerment and job opportunities right from the first tenure of Omo-Agege.

“This is the gathering of my ward women. I call them to appreciate them for all that they have been doing in this ward. Since I started politics in 1987, the women in this ward have never failed me. And today, I have called them to appreciate them and to prepare their minds for the election ahead.

“Their responses are all positive. It’s all about Tinubu, it’s all about Omo-Agege, it’s all about five over five, the President, the governor, the Senate, the House of Reps and the State House of Assembly, five over five.

“I have also asked them to go and talk to their fellow women and the men in the Community that now, APC is the way. We want to start a new dawn in Delta State. I’ve also let them know that what we have got from the government is not commensurate with what we have contributed to the wealth of the State.

“Recently, Okowa gave out Universities and the entire Ijaw nation was neglected. Probably he thought that the Ijaw people do not go to school. But I have told them that a university is coming, and light is coming. I have told them that the roads are coming.

“Okowa has been deceiving the Ayankromo people with that bridge. For almost eight years now he has been deceiving them. I have told them now that that bridge will be completed in the first tenure of Omo-Agege.

“Women’s economic empowerment is coming; youth empowerment is coming and free health care services are coming. It’s going to be a new dawn in Delta State.

“I have come to find in Omo-Agege a man who has a vision, a man who has a human heart to take care of people, he is focused and a man with great capacity. He is dynamic. And by the grace of God, Omo-Agege is going to be the next governor by May 29, 2023”, Orubebe said.

The DG of the Delta APC Campaign Organization used the occasion to explain that the visits of the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Delta State twice within two weeks show how interested he is in the affairs of the State.

“That tells us the importance he (Tinubu) attached to Delta State. You know, Tinubu is a Deltan by marriage. He has come to tell Deltans that he cannot abandon his wife, he cannot abandon his children, and he cannot abandon his home. When he becomes the President of Nigeria, we are very sure Delta State will not be forgotten”, Orubebe said.
