Several protesters suspected to be under the auspices of the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest stormed the vicinity of the residence of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, on Thursday.

The protesters reportedly requested that Buhari should address them at his residence before they would leave.

However, the situation was immediately put under control by the security agencie

The New Diplomat’s checks reveal that the protestors later “set up a bonfire in front of the former President’s house and were chanting loudly,”

After their futile attempts to convince the former President to address them in front of his residence, the youths reportedly headed for the palace of the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar Farouk.

However, the security operatives were able to disperse the protesters.

The New Diplomat reports that thousands of Nigerians took to the streets across the country to protest against what they described as “bad governance.”

The organizers of the protests had stated that the demonstration is intended to convey their grievances to the Federal Government regarding the high cost of living in Nigeria and poor policy initiatives and implementation.
