A Hamas leader, Commander Saeed Attallah Ali, his wife and their two daughters have been killed in an Israeli strike on northern Lebanon.

This was confirmed by the Palestinian armed group on Saturday.

Ali and his family were said to have been killed on Saturday in the “Zionist bombardment of his house in the Beddawi camp” near the northern city of Tripoli.

Ali has been identified as a leader of Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades.

This comes after the killing of Hassan Nasrallah, leader of a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party, Hezbollah.

The Israeli military, last week Saturday, claimed it killed Hezbollah’s leader in an air attack on Lebanon’s capital, Beirut.

The death of Nasrallah has sent shockwaves throughout Lebanon and the Middle East, where he has been a dominant political and military figure for more than three decades.

However, U.S. President Joe Biden said the Israeli strike was a “measure of justice” for victims of Hezbollah’s “reign of terror.”
