The Federal Government has officially
announced Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays in observance of Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year celebrations, respectively.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this announcement through a statement that was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, on Monday.
Tunji-Ojo, in the statement also extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Nigerians, encouraging them to wholeheartedly embrace the season’s fundamental values.
He emphasized the importance of love, peace and unity, as Nigerians celebrate.
The statement reads in part: “The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences.”
Reassuring Nigerians of the government’s dedication and commitment to a better Nigeria, Tunji-Ojo stated, “The Federal Government is committed to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across the nation.”
