The Nigeria Police Force have apprehended crypto billionaire Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, in Abuja on Tuesday.

The arrest followed serious allegations which include cryptocurrency fraud, terrorism funding, and aiding internet fraud among other crimes involving his business enterprises.

The Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest in an interview, where he cited numerous complaints leveled against BLord’s companies.

While assuring the public of a thorough investigation into the matter, he also affirmed that the crypto boss is still in police custody.

“Yes, we have him with us,” Adejobi stated.

He further mentioned that Mr Williams’ companies such as Blord Group, Blord Real Estate Ltd, Blord Jetpaye Limited, and Billpoint Technology are under probe.

Identifying many of the alleged offences of which the companies were accused, the police spokesperson highlighted, “cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks.”

He however pledged that the FCID (NPF-NCCC) will conduct a diligent investigation, while ensuring the safety and security of the country’s cyberspace by all means.
