The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has berated billionaire businessman, Mr. Aliko Dangote in an open letter to President Bola Tinubu for the alleged mismanagement of the Cement Technology Institute of Nigeria (CTIN) led by Dangote.

The NANS leadership, in the letter, alleged misuse and misappropriation of strategic funds intended to provide training and development opportunities for Nigerian youth in the cement industry according to the establishment goals of CTIN. The Association seeks accountability for the use of the funds

The Association demands that President Tinubu Issue a directive to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to publicly account for the usage of over 20 billion Naira contributed over 10 years ago as levies on imported cement to the CTIN for technical training purposes

While also demanding for a restructured leadership of the CTIN, the group stressed that Aliko Dangote’s leadership in perpetuity is undemocratic and has contributed to the alleged mismanagement. The group also demands explanations from Dangote on the use of funds since he has led the institute since its inception.

The NANS has further requested that President Tinubu immediately engage an external independent forensic auditor to audit the CTIN funds, stating that it would not rest till every penny is accounted for. The association also sets a seven-day ultimatum for Aliko Dangote to respond to the allegations leveled against him
