Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Thursday said he has begun a 15-day working vacation.

Akeredolu who was sworn in for his second term in office on February 24, has now embarked on his first annual leave, in 2021, transmitting power to his deputy, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa,

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde.

According to the statement, Akeredolu had in a letter transmitted to the State House of Assembly and addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun, Governor Akeredolu said the leave will begin on Thursday, 1st of April to April 23rd 2021.

The statement also disclosed that the functions and responsibilities of the governor will be carried out by Deputy Governor, Aiyedatiwa, while he is away on the annual leave.

Governor Akeredolu is expected to resume his duty on Monday, April 26.

Recall that the governor, similarly went on a 14-working vacation on September 4, 2019, transmitting power to his former Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
