The funeral activities for the late media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi, climaxed yesterday with his burial in his hometown of Agenebode in the Etsako East Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State.

Family, friends and well-wishers had converged on the town for a week of ceremony that culminated in the funeral, Friday of the renowned shipping magnate, politician, and chairman of DAAR Communications.

The town and its people, along with several visitors from around the world witnessed the , burial rites, which included a service of songs held at his former residence.

The funeral mass gave attendees another opportunity to pray for the repose of the late icon’s soul even as the officiating priest reminded all of the need to remember there is life after death.

Following the homily, a procession and motorcade accompanied the corpse to his final resting place.

Emotions could not be reined in when the time for goodbyes came as tears flowed freely from the dignitaries.

At a reception for guests, more accolades poured in for the man whose life and times many had come to honour.

Although the loss weighed heavily on his family, the general prayer on the lips of almost everyone was that their beloved patriarch and benefactor received the rewards of his labour from the almighty.
