Concerned with the task of delivering Delta Central for the PDP in the forthcoming 2019 general election, leaders and stakeholders of the party converged at Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State to restate the issue of unity of purpose and strategize towards achieving a hundred percent victory for the party in the area in 2019.

The attendance of who is who in PDP from Delta Central and even the entire state underscored the importance of the meeting which turned out to be a rally of sort as aspirant for different positions and their supporters took their turns to showcase their colourful attires and banners.

 On the list was the State chairman of the PDP, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso (who coincidentally is from Ethiope East), the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, frontline Delta Central Senatorial Aspirant, Chief Ighoyota Amori, PDP chairman for Delta Central, Chief A.P. Fovie (who is the chief host), Olorogun Bernard Edewor and Chief Adiotomre.

Other top PDP chieftains include the member representing Ethiope East in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Evance Ivwurie, Chief Mrs. Faith Majemite (Chairman, Ethiope East Local Government chairman), Hon. Commissioner for Works, Mr. James Augoye, House of Assembly Aspirant, Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo, House of Representatives Aspirants – Godfrey Ishegbe, Hon. Ben Igbakpa, Hon. Lovett Idisi, among several others.

Speaker after speaker, the message was very clear – Unity is strength, just as the State chairman of the party, Olorogun Esiso urged members to close ranks, assuring that the party primary due to take place very soon would be free, fair and credible to ensure that the current rebranding of the PDP makes meaning.

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori enjoined party members and leaders to show more commitment towards delivery Delta Central hundred percent in the next election, urging them to be more united as according to him, unity is strength.

 Also speaking at the occasion, the Delta Central PDP chairman, Chief A.P. Fovie called on members of the party to show more commitment, urging them to take advantage of the weaknesses of other parties in the state to preach the gospel of the PDP to every nooks and crannies of
Delta Central and the state as a whole.

Fovie called on the various aspirants in the party to preach the message of peaceful co-existence, adding that election should be seen as a do or die affairs.

Fielding questions from newsmen, shortly after the ceremony, Chief Amori emphasized that PDP in Delta Central is now united, stating that the caliber of personalities who graced the occasion was a testimony that PDP is set for the next election.

 In his message, Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo emphasized that a free, fair and credible primary is the only panacea for victory for PDP in 2019, adding that the days of imposition and consensus candidate were over.

 He called on the leaders of the party to dispense with the old way of doing things, adding that the party which is currently rebranding must not be allowed to be held hostage by the scourge of imposition and consensus candidate syndromes which had adversely affected the fortunes of the party in Delta Central in the past.

 Akpowowo also advised the governor to take everybody as his own, adding that whoever wins in the primary must be loyal to him.

 Highpoint of the ceremony was the colourful and peaceful parades of different aspirants with their supporters.
