As the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its congress next Saturday, the leader of the party in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor has called for mass mobilization at ward and local government levels in preparation for a full-blown exercise.

Addressing party supporters at his country home, Evwreni in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on Sunday April 29, 2018, Olorogun Emerhor called on the members of the party to ensure a proper congress is conducted that will not be contested by any detractor, adding that when a transparent and thorough congress takes place in the state it will prove wrong those who have been alleging that the party structure in the state has been hijacked by some persons.

Olorogun O’tega Emerhor (3rd from right) with APC governorship aspirants in Evwreni.

Said he: “what I’m going to say to you today is for you to go home and defend your wards.  We want to win on the ground.  If anybody wants to challenge us in Abuja, we will show him the video of how we won the congress at the ward, the council and the state. So, be rest assured that we are doing a full congress.”

Speaking further, Olorogun Emerhor noted that although the former exco structure in the state was not a bad one, there was room for improvement, adding that when they get to the bridge for the state exco they will cross it.

“So now, let’s do congress.  And when we win clean and clear, there will be no more complaint again.  Those who have been complaining will now see the need to join the winning team because as a matter of fact, it is the governorship of the state we are after and not necessarily party exco.

“When we deal with the ward, deal with the local government, then we will come to the state exco.  But first of all, we should go and win our wards and our local governments and the work starts now”, Emerhor stressed.

He advised against violence before, during and after the congress, urging the party members to continue to meet and strategize before Saturday congress to ensure victory.

The occasion witnessed the attendance of all the APC governorship aspirants in the state including Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, Prof. Pat Utomi, Chief Okotie, Dr. Obire, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, among others.

High point of the occasion was the individual addresses of the governorship aspirants to the party members.

Present at the occasion were party leaders including Chief Cyril Ogodo, Engr. Hycenth Enuah, Chief Adolor Okotie Eba oh, Executive Director of Projects, NDDC, Engr. Dr. Ajogbe, House of Representatives aspirant for Ethiope Federal Constituency, Olorogun Dr. Wilson Omene and representatives from the 25 Local Government Areas in the state.
