Ogun State gubernatorial aspirant, Omooba Aderibigbe Adeleke Tella has promised to consolidate on the ongoing economic development efforts in the state, if he wins the race to occupy the Oke-Mosan government office next year.
Tella who is banking on the towering support for Ogun West to produce the first governor of the state, stated this in Ota, while speaking at a town hall meeting organized to engage leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as the general public in a broader consultation on the next Agenda for Ogun people in 2019 and beyond.
At the meeting facilitated by Tella Consolidation Team, he exchanged ideas with the people of Ado-Odo/Ota local government on his proposed programmes for the state.
“It’s a great privilege to be discussing the path to a world class Ogun on the soil of the industrial capital of the state,” Tella said.
He pointed out that with over 1000 industries operating within Ado-Odo/Ota local government, employing hundreds of people, the population of Ado-Odo/Ota has witnessed an unprecedented transformation, growing at an astronomical rate which has led to expansion in all directions.
“With expansion taking place from Ibaragun to Ifo; Itele to Lagos; Atan/Agbara and Abule Iroko enroute Lagos, public infrastructures are being overstretched daily as more people continue to move into those areas.
“I will like to say, we will consolidate on the present gains of the APC government led by Governor Ibikunle Amosun in expanding the road networks to take our state to the next level. Our team recognizes the importance of the infrastructures developed by the present administration.”
“By the grace of God, if you collectively assist me to achieve the aspiration of becoming the next governor of the state, I will consolidate on the current economic development going on in the state and also bring in fresh sustainable solutions to address the challenges of governance beyond 2019.”
Speaking further, Tella promised to emphasize on technical education to drive massive job creation in the creative, manufacturing and agriculture industries for sustainable development in the state.
“Our research finding is apt that only 5% of Nigerians have technical college certificates and no country can grow without technicians and specialized manpower.”
He stressed that in line with his proposed plans, “Ota is strategic to realizing our target of using technical education to expand industries, trade and commerce in Ogun.”
“In realizing our plan for a world class Ogun, we have designed a model that will ensure we carry along all facets of the society and interest groups. From community based organizations to youth formations and the elderlies, as well as SMEs; we will adequately put in place a proper engagement mechanism to address citizens’ concerns.”
Earlier, before the commencement of the town hall meeting, Prince Tella had paid a courtesy visit to the Olota of Ota, Oba Kabiru Adeyemi (Oba Lanlege) at his palace, alongside members of his team and party Chieftains to seek royal blessings.
