As the Nigeria Police grapple with the highly publicized altercation between Afrobeats star, Seun Kuti and a policeman on Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, a woman, Olufumilayo Brioluwa, was yesterday arrested for assaulting another police officer.

The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a post on his Twitter handle, on Tuesday, said the lady has been remanded in Kirikiri correctional facility.

In his words, “somewhere in Ogombo yesterday, she assaulted a police officer. She was arraigned today and has been remanded to the Kirikiri correctional facility till June 6 when the case come up again in court.”

The tweet tagged a picture of the lady in the midst of assaulting the officer as others tried to calm the situation and a court document showing the petition filed by the police commissioner.

It would be recalled that the IGP, Usman Baba Alkali, in a statement signed by the Force Headquarters PPRO, CSP Muyiwa Adeojobi, had ordered the arrest of Seun Kuti, following his alleged assault of a Police Corporal.
