Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign for re-election in 2026 received a significant boost as the Osun State House of Assembly unanimously endorsed his candidacy ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The Osun State House of Representatives expressed its strong legislative support for Adeleke’s continued leadership.

In a plenary session on Tuesday, lawmakers praised Adeleke’s achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, citing projects like road rehabilitation, school renovations, and improved primary healthcare services as evidence of his transformative governance.

Speaker Adewale Egbedun described Adeleke’s tenure as “people-centric,” emphasizing his commitment to Osun’s development.

The motion for the vote of confidence was initiated by Adewumi Adeyemi, representing the Obokun State Constituency and seconded by Taofiq Olayiwola from Ede South State Constituency.

After the motion was set, the 26-member Assembly, comprised of 25 members from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and one from the All Progressives Congress, APC, expressed their full support for the governor.

In his address, the speaker commended the governor for his dedication to the development of Osun State, highlighting his impactful governance and commitment to his five-point agenda.

He stated: “Politics aside, Mr Governor is a plain-minded personality, loving and genuine. These attributes have greatly assisted him in his performance.”
