Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) has directed pastors of RCCG to commence prayer for the immediate release of Leah Sharibu and others in captivity of Boko Haram insurgents.

Adeboye’s directive was contained in a statement, titled “Call for release of Leah Sharibu” where he urged parents, church leaders and well meaning Nigerians to intensify prayers for immediate release of the captured Leah Sharibu.

He said the church will continue to intensify prayers for the recently kidnapped students of Government Science College, Kagara, Rafi Local government, Niger State.

The statement reads: “I hereby again, call and direct all Pastors in The Redeemed Christian Church of God, all over the world, not to stop but to intensify their prayers for the release of Leah Sharibu.

“I also call on every parent, all over the world, to use whatever influence they have, to ensure that Leah Sharibu, as well as other children in captivity, is released,”

“We shall not relent in our prayers” for the captives including the school children that were abducted recently in Niger State by the fundamentals.”

Recall 110 girls were kidnapped from Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, in Yobe State by Boko Haram in February 19, 2018, now three years ago. While five of the girls were killed, the rest were later released, except Leah Sharibu. The terrorist group failed to release Leah over her refusal to renounce her Christian faith.
