Rep. Ibrahim Almustapha (APC-Sokoto) says the election of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will ensure discipline in the party as well as enhance its prospects.

Almustapha who represents Wurno/Rabah Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, said this when he spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday.

“This is the beginning of a new dawn for APC, where everybody will be accommodated and every interest looked into. We are going to have a prosperous and a disciplined APC under Adamu, there will be disclipline in the party.
“We are lucky to have him as APC Chairman because he is a consistent person and his age is a great advantage.

“He has held many sensitive positions in Nigeria and performed beyond expectations,” he said.
He said that prior to the National Convention many people had speculated that it might not be successfully.
“Am happy that the APC as the largest party in Africa has been able to organise a successful convention against all odds.

“Some people believed that the convention will not hold, we have proven to the doubting Thomasis that we in APC are progressive and we have a great leader in President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We will always come together to understand our differences and agree on how to resolve them.

“You know that in politics you always need to agree and disagree to move forward. But the ability to harmonise different positions is what actually makes a great party,” he said.

Almustapha said that the manner in which the convention was held has also proven that the APC was a party of the generals.
“The successful conduct of the Convention came to many as a shock.
“Am happy to say that the APC has proven that it is a party for the generals in politics and not in war front.

“There are people who are well versed in the management of human and natural resources and we have plenty of them in the party,” he said.(NAN)
