The national chairman of the Labour Party, Comrade Julius Abure has predicted a comfortable win for the British Labour Party in the national election coming up this weekend.

Abure in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, on Tuesday, noted that, based on the unbiased assessment of unfolding events in the electoral process, the British Labour Party will have a landslide victory to form the next government.

The statement reads in parts: “Fraternal and victorious greetings from the National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee and National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Labour Party to you and the entire British Labour Party Family.

“We profoundly express our solidarity to you and your entire team as you proceed to the general election in the United Kingdom.

“There is great assurance based on our unbiased assessment of unfolding events in the electoral process that, the British Labour Party will have a landslide victory to form the next government.

“The British Labour Party has consistently in the last fourteen years provided a progressive opposition which put the Conservative Party on her toes. And as the Leader of the Opposition since 2020, you have demonstrated high level of statesmanship and transformative leadership at the Parliament which has currently given you a comparative advantage over Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who is also the Candidate of the Conservative Party.

“This undoubtedly has put the British Labour Party in a comfortable lead in the public opinion and the ongoing electoral process. The July 4, 2024 election is a decisive moment in the history of Democracy in the United Kingdom. It is a decision between unstable neoliberal economy policy and progressive regulated market economy which is people-centred and transformative.

“Nigerian Labour Party shall continue to strengthen the bond of solidarity between her and the British Labour Party in order to guarantee transformative governance and prosperity for the Citizens of both Countries through the shared principles and ideology of Social Democracy.

“Wish you once again victory at the poll and a successful Labour Party government in advance.”
