A former Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Abubakar Tsav has passed away.

Tsav reportedly breathed his last at the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, Benue State at the age of 81.

Confirming the incident in a social media post on Monday, his daughter, Heiress Ramatu Weren, said, “I just lost my dad, may his soul rest in eternal rest and glory.”

Ramatu, whose post indicated that the former police commissioner showed signs of convalescence before he finally lost the battle to the yet to be disclosed illness that killed him, accepted the will of God. She thanked God for the life of her father.

“Daddy we all prayed and believed God for your recovery and we saw improvement but this is God’s will. All I can say is  I thank God for your life.”

The late Tsav was a critic with social conscience in his lifetime; he was also an ombudsman. He served as federal complainant commissioner in Benue State for a term.

Tsav also investigated  the letter bomb that killed Nigerian journalist, Dele Giwa, who died on October 19 1986.
