Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the State.

The governor made this announcement on Thursday following the looting and destruction of public and private properties, as well as the killing and maiming of law-abiding citizens by some suspected thugs and hoodlums who hijacked the #EndBadGovernance protest.

The governor revealed this while addressing a press conference at Government House, Kano.

He explained that the decision was made to secure the lives and properties of all residents of the state.

He said: “After careful consideration, we have come to terms that 24-hour curfew should be put in place to further prevent looting and vandalisation of businesses and killing of innocent citizens.”

He further directed all security agencies in the state to ensure full compliance with the directives to ensure the restoration of peace in the state.

This is coming after some unidentified individuals suspected to be hoodlums broke into a Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) Digital Innovation Park located in Kano State.

It was gathered that the suspected individuals stormed the building around noon on Thursday and carted away scores of valuables from the building.
