Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 presidential election.

Adeleke made this known in a post shared via his X (Formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday.

He wrote: “Our party in Osun has also endorsed President @officialABAT for re-election in 2027, recognizing him as a proud son of our state.”

The Governor said the decision was reached during a leadership Caucus meeting of Osun PDP on Monday.

Addressing defection speculations, Adeleke also maintained that he remains in PDP and will contest for his re-election bid under the party.

He continued: “Yesterday, I met with the @OfficialPDPNig Leadership Caucus in Osogbo after weeks of consultations with stakeholders across Osun — from traditional rulers and civil servants to market leaders and grassroots party members.

“I’m pleased to share the resolutions:

“I remain in the PDP, the party that gave me the platform to serve the good people of Osun.

“I have been unanimously endorsed by the Osun PDP for a second term in 2026.”

The New Diplomat reports that this comes amid speculations that Adeleke is set to dump the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 Osun State Governorship election.
