The sports community in Akwa Ibom state was on Tuesday thrown into a state of mourning following the news of the sudden demise of Mr Emmanuel Ibah after a brief illness.

Ibah was Akwa Ibom state football association chairman and NFF Board member and a staff of the defunct NITEL, Lagos.

Ibah, 61, was from the Nto Ibah Royal Family of Ukana Ibah in Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

Ibah was actively working for football Development in the state and beyond. The deceased was instrumental to the success of super Eagles World Cup qualifiers, GoTv Cup, Atletico v Super Eagles team B, UEFA trophy tour and several football competitions.

In the meantime, SWAN, NFF, Ministry of Youth and Sports have sent condolences to late Ibah family.

Ibah reportedly died of Covid-19 complications at a Port Harcourt hospital.
