The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 infection.
According reports, the CJN is presently in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, receiving treatment for the ailment.
A member of the Supreme Court, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa disclosed this at the unveiling of the national headquarters of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) in Abuja, the FCT on Tuesday.
It would be recalled CJN Muhammad was surprisingly absent at the swearing in ceremony of 72 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN. On that account, he was represented by a judge of the supreme court, Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour.
CJN Muhammed’s role was thus carried out by the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, in order the roll of seniority, and that task consequently fell on Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour who administered oaths to the new SANs.
