The All Progressives Congress(APC) has rescheduled its nationwide membership registration, and re-validation  of its voters register earlier billed to commence on Saturday, December 12, 2020.

The  National Secretary of the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee, Senator John Akpan UdoUdehe,  who announced this development on Thursday in Abuja  said the rationale for postponing the voters registration was predicated on several factors including the need for people to observe the Christmas and New Year seasons.

He said, “On account of several factors however, including the fast-approaching Christmas and End of Year celebrations; as well as the interest of our Christian members; and the objective of ensuring maximum participation, the CECPC has decided to shift the date of the Exercise to the second week of January 2021.

“The CECPC sincerely regrets any inconveniences that may arise out of the change in date; but appeals for the understanding of our teeming members and the general public, in the interest of preparing a solid foundation for a successful Exercise.

“The Party wishes you all; as well as members of the public, a peaceful and rewarding Yuletide, and End of Year celebration.”

Recall that the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the ruling APC had on Monday announced the commencement of the party membership registration and revalidation.

The four weeks exercise was expected initially to kick-off  simultaneously on December 12, in  wards across the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and end on January 9, 2021.

Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni  had similarly assured all party members that  party registration materials will be distributed to  wards ahead of the commencement of the exercise.

He also pleaded with party members  to avail themselves the opportunity of the exercise to revalidate their membership while potential members are expected  to take advantage of process to get registered
