I remember when he came to KC, amidst the mass of indistinguishable Lower 6th Formers, he boldly stood out, his sparkling personality earning him easy friendships across the classes, across the houses as if he had been at KC since Form One.
Through the years, as he ascended the ladder of Nigeria’s corporate and social worlds, he never changed in his demeanour towards me. Wherever and whenever I saw him, no matter who he was with, he would seek me out with that twinkle in his eye, that mischievous smile and easy grace to tease and banter as if we were still back at school
There were never any awkward greetings or fumbled meetings or stilted head nod acknowledgements with Albert, he always greeted me with gusto.
