The gruesome murder of the former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) in Rivers State, Ebenezer Kalabo Amah, has continued to generate ripples.

The deceased was reportedly kidnapped before being gruesomely murdered by his assassins on Thursday night.

It was gathered that the gunmen trailed him to his residence along Precious Chukwu Street in Woji, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state where he was kidnapped.

The lifeless body of the victim was however recovered along the Peter Odili Road few hours after his kidnapped.

The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the kidnapped and the subsequent killing of Amah on Friday.

The spokesperson of the Command, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident, said Amah’s killers dumped his corpse along the Peter Odili Road in the Port Harcourt metropolis.

Omoni said, “Yes, I can confirm. He was kidnapped in Woji yesterday. That same day, the police recovered his vehicle. While we were searching for him, we got information that his body was dumped somewhere at Peter Odili Road.

“So the following day, we got there and confirmed that he was the same person that was kidnapped the previous day. His body was evacuated and taken to the hospital mortuary for preservation.

“The vehicle is in our custody. The police have commenced investigation into the incident to unravel the circumstances surrounding ensure the dastardly act.”
