The Nigerian Army emphatically denied Saturday that it has mounted a manhunt for DJ Switch, who alleged soldiers killed between 7 and 15 protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.

On Saturday, Commander of the 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Brigadier Ahmed Taiwo, said the claims that soldiers were looking for DJ Switch were “further from the truth”.

Taiwo was given evidence at the judicial enquiry looking into the Lekki Toll Gate shooting and police atrocities.DJ Switch and Nigerian Army,Lekki Toll Gate, protesters

Nigerian Army Apprehends Soldiers Threatening to Rape Warri Women in Viral Video

DJ Switch, who has now fled to Canada, streamed the shooting by soldiers of unarmed protesters on the night of 20 October.

In subsequent video posts, the famous disc jockey, whose real name is Obianuju Catherine Udeh, said she saw bodies being taken away by soldiers.

DJ Switch on Monday surfaced in Canada, where she told a committee of the Canadian Parliament about the events of 20 October at the Lekki Toll Gate.

The Nigerian Army also told Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and Other Matters that they are not after other #EndSARS protesters.

“DJ Switch claimed the Nigerian Army was looking for her Nothing could be further from the truth. We have bigger fish to fry. That is, how to stabilise Lagos.

“There is a lot of misinformation against the Nigerian Army, and when you produce facts debunking the misinformation, all you get is abuse on social media.

“The social media campaign against the Nigerian Army has been wicked and atrocious in its dimension and filled with lies.

“It is being conducted as if officers and men of the Nigerian Army are from the moon or Pluto. The Nigerian Army will never turn against its citizens,” Taiwo said.

She said those lies to get asylum in Canada or any other country. The panel is sitting in the public, let those that alleged that people were killed go there with evidence. Bunch of liars and vandals.
