The Nigerian Super Eagles put up a disappointing display against Sierra Leone in the African Nations Cup, AFCON, qualifier in Benin, Friday.

The Eagles had started the match on a scintillating note, putting four goals past the Leone Stars in the first half.

During the match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State, the Super Eagles opened scoring through Alex Iwobi five minutes after kick off.

Napoli star, Victor Osimhen made it 2-0 for Nigeria on 22 minutes of play in the first half.

Iwobi got his brace to make it 3-0 for the Eagles on 28 minutes.

Samuel Chukwueze scored on 31 minutes to make it 4-0.

But in dramatic turn the Leone stars pulled back all four goals through Kwame Quee, Al-Hadji Kamara and Mustapha Bundu to draw the match 4-4.

It’s really a shocking performance from the Nigerian side coached by Gernot Rohr as it has opened up the group F where Nigeria was initially on course to qualify from with games to spare.
