A three-storey school building, on Saturday, collapsed in Ejigbo area of Lagos state.

The building located at 15, Ansarudeen Street, Ile-Epo bus-stop, reportedly gave way
in the morning.

According to eyewitnesses’ account, the building is owned by Excel College.

It had previously exhibited signs of distress and the school was planning to renovate the structure before the collapse.

There have been no reports of casualties recorded, so far.

It was gathered that the three-storey building had two adjoining wings but unfortunately the collapsed wing had shown signs of visible cracks on the walls and pillars

The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu has confirmed the development.

He said responders were at the scene already. They include LASEMA, Police from Ejigbo Division and others.
