The total number of COVID 19 infections in Nigeria rose to 47, 743 on Wednesday as the country recorded 453 new cases of the coronavirus.
This was disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night via a tweet on the agency’s verified Twitter handle.
The specialized health agency disclosed that the new cases were recorded in Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and 14 other states of the federation while giving a breakdown of the figure.
As usual, Lagos topped the list with 113 cases, the FCT came second with 72 new infections, and Plateau with 59 cases took the third position.
Other states with reported cases include Enugu, Kaduna, and Ondo with 55, 38, and 32 cases respectively.
Others are Osun – 26, Ebonyi – 20, Ogun – 9, Delta – 8, Borno – 7, Akwa-Ibom – 6, Oyo – 5 with Bauchi, Kano, and Ekiti each having 1 case.
So far, 33, 943 patients have recovered from the virus and have been discharged while 956 people have lost their lives to the disease.
