Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr Obadia Mailafiya, has been released by Department of State Security (DSS) in Jos on Wednesday,

Mailafiya, who was a guest of the DSS was released on bail after several hours of interrogation by the secret police.

He was invited by the DSS over some comments he made on the killings going on in the country.DSS Mailafiya

Mailafa had alleged that one of the Northern Governors is the Commander of Boko Haram in Nigeria.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after his release, Mailafia said he was treated with respect and decorum during his interrogation by the security operatives.

According to him, all the killings in Southern Kaduna and other states in the country must stop.

He noted that every Nigerian child either from Katsina, Southern Kaduna, Zaria, Borno and other places are his children.

The former CBN Deputy Governor further said he is not talking politics but like Nelson Mandela, the struggle for the emancipation of the people is his concern.

He said, “l’m not afraid to die for the sake of the defenseless people.”

He pointed out that it is the duty of government to protect lives and properties of its citizens.

He commended his well wishers and his supporters, asking them not to give up on one Nigeria.
